The choir was a community group setup in 2009 because of a local deaf pupil and for the local community and continued to be led voluntarily to give bring together Deaf and Hearing people in our communities; to share the love and joy of the vibrant visual language and break down communication barriers.
Since 2009, our choir has been raising deaf awareness through signed music and fundraising for deaf community projects. After 15 wonderful years, at the end of 2024 I made the difficult decision to retire the choir. Over the years, many members have been part of our journey, with some going on to formally study British Sign Language (BSL) and incorporate it into their careers and daily lives.
